Lent Challenge Bible Study 8: Fully rely on God

Hello there.

If you’re still going strong on your Lent challenges, congratulations! Today I have a post based on feeling afraid, scared and apprehensive. I hope it helps some of you feel comfort in the Lord and his words.

Scripture: ”Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,” he said ”Peace! Be strong now; be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, ”Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.” Daniel 10:19

Observation: The Lord does not want us to be afraid, scared nor worried, he gives us everlasting peace and does not intend to bring us harm. Just as the Lord God gives Daniel strength, we should feel uplifted in his word and glory.

Application: There are many times in my life when I am afraid and scared for a whole variety of reasons, some of which may seem trivial at the time but nonetheless, I am a worrier. I should know that there is no need to feel this way, for God is always with me, guiding me, and giving me strength even when I do not notice it. I need to give my worries and concerns to God for he cares for us all. The Lord grants us strength and we need to take this upliftment to go forward in times of stress and concern.

Kneeling in Prayer: Lord, when I am anxious and afraid, help me to remember that you are always there for me, ready to listen to me and ready to give me strength. Help me to worry less on myself and instead use these negative energies to positively make a difference using the strength you give to us all. In your name I pray, amen.
